WRC Rally Portugal
The Rally Portugal is one of the most prestigious and traditional events in the World Rally Championship (WRC). It is known for its challenging gravel roads, unpredictable weather conditions and passionate fans, which create a unique atmosphere for the event. The rally is part of the WRC calendar and annually attracts the world’s best drivers to compete in demanding conditions.
We will leave for the Portuguese World Rally Championship on Wednesday on a Finnair direct flight from Helsinki to Lisbon. From there we will transfer to the hotel. We will have a hotel in Porto for the duration of the rally, which is close to the service park. 🙂
We will be moving around in two minivans in the rally to get to the best spots. The schedule will be followed during the journey, as is customary in rallying. But according to the plan, Thursday will start with shakedown. If SS1 is the same as last time, i.e. a public lap in the parking lot, we will skip it, as it requires about 4 hours of driving and the schedule is tight anyway.
The rally program is being finalized, but Friday will probably be a double leg. On Saturday, either 1 or 2 special stages and maintenance, and on Sunday, the plan is to go to Fafe for power.
